Tour Plan

Day 1: Karakorum ancient capital - Erdenezuu Monastery

Our meeting point is at Sukhbaatar Square. We start our journey to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia, founded by Chinggis Khaan in 1220 in the Orkhon Valley, a key point on the Silk Road. It served as the Mongol Empire's capital for 40 years until Kubilai Khan moved it to Beijing. After the empire's collapse, Karakorum was abandoned, and remnants were used to build the Erdene Zuu monastery in the 16th century.

Activity: Discover Mongolian ancient empire's history at the Karakorum Museum, and explore Mongolian Buddhism at Erdene Zuu Monastery, one of the country's first Buddhist monasteries.

Driving: 350 km for paved road

Accomodation:  Tourist ger camp

Day 2 Experience nomadic life by visiting a Thousand Herder's nomad family.

Experience the highlight of the tour by visiting a hospitable Thousand Herder's nomad family. After breakfast, we'll drive to this authentic, non-touristy location, immersing you in the nomadic lifestyle surrounded by a thousand livestock. The welcoming nomad family will host you with great hospitality, and over the next two days, you'll engage in their daily chores, make friends, explore neighboring families, and participate in activities like fermenting yogurt, making dried curd, cheese, and herding various animals including goats, sheep, horses, and camels. 

Activity: Visit & stay with typical nomad family, fermenting yogurt, build up ger which is traditional mongolian dwelling, make “Buuz” for dinner, herding livestocks, make dairy products, 

Driving: 50km for off road 

Accomodation:  Overnight stay with nomad family in a ger

Day 3: Stay with the nomad family

Spend the entire day with a nomad family, assisting in their daily activities. In the morning, join them in milking goats and cows, followed by processing fresh butter for breakfast. Afterward, accompany a family member as they herd livestock in the mountains or steppes, engaging in activities like horse riding, hiking, napping, and singing along with the family. It's an immersive experience in the nomadic way of life.

Activity: Visit & stay with typical nomad family, fermenting yogurt, build up ger which is traditional mongolian dwelling, make “Buuz” for dinner, herding livestocks, make dairy products

Day 4: Unesco registered Orkhon Valley

Time to say goodbye to the nomad family. Today we will drive to the historic Orkhon Waterfall in Central Asia's Orkhon Valley. Capture picturesque moments of Mongolian nomads raising animals on the grassy plains. Explore the largest waterfall in Mongolia, ideal for photography and gorge hiking. Meet a horse-herding family and prepare for an exciting horse trek to Khuisiin Naiman Nuur.

Activity: Walk around waterfall

Driving: 100km for off road 

Accomodation:  Overnight stay with nomad family in a ger

Day 5: Horseback riding to the Eight lakes

Embark on a horse trek to Khuisiin Naiman Nuur, the "Navel Eight Lakes," formed by volcanic eruptions over centuries. Situated 2400 meters above sea level, this National Park, established in 1992, spans 11,500 hectares. Our first stop is Khuis Lake, covering 30 kilometers on horseback today. Spend the night by the stunning Khuis Lake, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of Khuisiin Naiman Nuur. Get ready for an unforgettable experience!

Activity: Horseback riding for about 30 kms, photography, stargazing 

Driving: no driving

Accomodation:  camping

Day 6: Continue horseback riding

Today, embark on a horse trek to Shireet Lake, the largest in the Naiman Nuur region. Admire the other lakes en route, all part of the Eight Lakes formed by ancient volcanic eruptions at an altitude of 3,163 meters. After a 20-kilometer ride, set up camp by Shireet Lake for a night under the stars, immersed in the beauty and tranquility of this remarkable landscape. Prepare to savor the serenity of Shireet Lake and the wonders of Khuisiin Naiman Nuur!

Day 7: Last day for horseback riding

Today, horse trek back to Boorog and upon reaching the tourist camp, freshen up with a shower. The evening's highlight is a traditional Mongolian Barbecue, complemented by airag, a nomadic favorite made from fermented mare's milk. Conclude the horse trekking adventure with the comforts of the camp and the authentic flavors of Mongolian cuisine.

Day 8: Tovkhon Monastery

Drive to Tovkhon Monastery, an ancient Buddhist site in Mongolia and a revered pilgrimage center. Part of the Orkhon Valley UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, it sits atop Shiveet Ulaan Mountain in the Khangai Mountain range at 2312 meters. The monastery's secluded location adds to its mystique, making it spiritually significant and attracting pilgrims. We will hike to the Tuvkhun Monastery for 3-4 hours. 

Activity: Hiking to the Tovkhon monastery 

Driving: 80 km for offroad

Accomodation:  Tourist camp

Day 9: Elsen Tasarkhai

We will drive to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, a breathtaking semi-desert with large dunes. Experience camel riding in this beautiful terrain. Explore the dunes on foot, possibly witnessing a stunning sunset. Immerse yourself in the desert's beauty and enjoy the tranquil evening in this remarkable setting. There is an ancient temple ruin in the mountain, we will hike to the ruins of the monastery. 

Activity: Hiking to the ancient monastery ruin, Camel riding, walking around sand dunes

Day 10: Hustai National Park

Drive to Hustai National Park to see Przewalski's wild horse, crucial for the reintroduction of the Takhi into Mongolia, a species once extinct in the wild. The park provides a chance to observe Takhi, as well as Red Deer, marmots (in summer), gazelles, birds of prey, and more. A testament to conservation, Hustai is the best place in Mongolia to witness Takhi and large herds of elk, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and those interested in Mongolia's unique wildlife. There is a deer stone monument deep in the national park, we will visit the area. 

Activity: drive in Hustai National Park to see wild horse

Driving: 200 km for paved road

Day 11: Terelj National Park & ArtGer special dinner

After breakfast, we'll drive to Terelj National Park, known as the "Mongolian Switzerland," surrounded by high granite mountains and forests—ideal for hiking at 1600 meters above sea level. We'll stay at a tourist camp, enjoy a special dinner prepared by Boodog Boys in a nomad family. 

Activity: Walking, photography, stargazing, Boodog Boys special dinner

Driving: 150 km

Day 12: Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, a stroll to the 24-meter high Turtle Rock and the Aryabal meditation temple. Lunch, then we drive to Ulaanbaatar, stopping at the Chinggis Khan Statue. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show. We hope you had a fantastic time with our team. Departure at your hotel.

    I am 6 feet tall and 220 lbs. This shirt fit me perfectly in the chest and shoulders. My only complaint is that it is so long! I like to wear polo shirts untucked. This shirt goes completely past my rear end. If I wore it with ordinary shorts, you probably wouldnt be able to see the shorts at all – completely hidden by the shirt. It needs to be 4 to 5 inches shorter in terms of length to suit me. I have many RL polo shirts, and this one is by far the longest. I dont understand why.

    The shirt was not the fabric I believed it to be. It says Classic Fit but was made like the older versions, not the soft cotton like my others. I don’t understand how the labels are the same but a completely different shirt. Oh well, stuck with it now.

    The Ralph Lauren quaility is here in abundance. My husband always says that the Lauren polos fit better and last longer than any other brand.I love the new \”heathered\” color and the price is always excellent through shop
